GRACE CURRY
SINGER · ACTRESS · THEATRE ARTIST
What’s her deal?
Ever since she can remember, Grace was someone who pushed herself to her limits. As a kid, she cycled through a plethora of hobbies, from cooking, to entering spelling bees, even to Taekwondo. While some she had more fun with than others (she filled in her white Taekwondo belt with Sharpie to make it a black belt and decided that was enough), nothing really stuck with her. That is, until, she had her breakout role on the stage as Humpty Dumpty in Alice in Wonderland in the fourth grade.
Grace had grown up in a theatre-loving household. Some of her earliest memories include her mom singing The Music Man’s “Goodnight, My Someone” as a lullaby, or forcing her dad to record her singing Wicked songs to post unlisted on YouTube. When she started doing theatre, it easily and wonderfully consumed her life. In a full-circle moment, her first Broadway show was seeing Wicked on a class trip in eighth grade. When the overture started and she immediately burst into tears, much to the confusion of her classmates, Grace knew this is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
Ever since, Grace has worked to make art the forefront of her being. Grace believes there is a universality to art- when done out of love, art has the capability to reach anybody and embrace them with a joy that enables the human spirit to persevere. She wants the work she does to inspire others, especially plus size women who write themselves off before giving themselves a chance. You not only exist, but you are art itself, and there is so much more to you than what you think others see.
She is currently expected to graduate in May of 2026 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre, in the Musical Theatre track, from DeSales University.
note: this is not Grace in eighth grade.
